Abstract
George Lindsey moved to LA in 1962 to pursue an acting career. His most memorable role was as Goober Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968). George Lindsey created the George Lindsey UNA Film Festival in 1997 and this festival takes place at UNA every spring. Lindsey donated his collection to UNA's Archives in 2008.

Biographical Note
George Lindsey (1928-2012) was born in Fairfield, Alabama on December 17, 1928. He grew up in Jasper, Alabama. He attended Florence State Teachers College, now known as UNA, on a football scholarship.
