This collection contains research materials, newspaper and magazine articles, and historical information on the Quad Cities as well as Northwest Alabama.
Biographical Note
Dr. Mary Jane McDaniel was a professor in the History and Political Science Department for 32 years. She served as chair of the department for three years before she retired in 2001. She served on several boards, including the alabama Review. She chaired the Tennessee Valley Historical Society, the Florence Historical Board, as well as Heritage Preservation, Inc. She served as secretary for the Alabama Historical Association and vice chairman of the Alabama Historical Commission.
