Abstract
In 1897 at the University of Maine, ten senior students created an honor society that was different from the few others that existed. This organization recognized and honored excellence in all academic disciplines. Under the leadership of undergraduate student Marcus L. Urann, the group formed the Lambada Sigma Eta Society, which was later named Phi Kappa Phi from the initail letters of the Greek words forming its adopted motto: Philosophia Krateito Photo. "Let the love of learning rule humanity".University of North Alabama's chapter of Phoi Kappa Phi was first established in 1971 by Dr. Albertine Krohn, President-Elect and Dr. John McDow, vice-presient of the East Central District. UNA's first PKP honors society president was Miss Pauline Gravlee.

Biographical Note
The materials in this collection were given to UNA by the Phi Kappa Phi honor society in 2013. Materials continue to be added by the organization each year.
