Biographical Note for PHADP papers, 1989-2021 : Archive materials were originally in the possession of Executive Director Esther Brown of Lanett, Alabama and the PHADP board members on death row at William C. Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama. The organization chose to donate their materials in order for the archive to serve as a permanent memorial for the group and its members, a learning tool for the public, and a record of the history of the death penalty in Alabama.
