This collection contains letters and expense vouchers from General John Coffee during his time in command of the West Tennessee Mounted Brigade and Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry. These papers show various places that Coffee camped during the Indian campaigns as well as the War of 1812.

These letters have been transcribed for research purposes.
