Title: Shoals Music Archive (SMA)

Abstract
The Shoals Music Archive at the University of North Alabama aims to document, preserve, and make accessible a comprehensive collection of artifacts, recordings, memorabilia, personal documents, and ephemera that capture the dynamic and diverse musical history of North Alabama from the 19th century to the present.
Building the Shoals Music Archive will require significant teamwork and communication among a range of stakeholders, including individuals and organizations that may hold materials that help tell the story of our musical history. We believe your contributions will ensure the Archive's success and allow people now and in the years to come to understand the profound impact our region continues to have on shaping the sounds heard around the world.
The University of North Alabama Archives and Special Collections will arrange, describe, and make the archival collection accessible in support of scholarship, exhibitions, publications, and education.
It offers these services through personal reference, online databases, finding aids, and other forms of publication. It provides expert advice on accepted archival practices and standards to University colleagues, scholars, and the general public.
